Problem packages and alerts
How Roadcase decides a package is late, stuck, missed or lost, the default limits and how to change them, plus owner alerts, Slack and the Monday report.
In short: Roadcase checks every package against seven kinds of problem, each with a limit you can change in Settings. Problems appear on the Problems page, worst first, and can trigger a shopper email and an alert to you.
The seven problem types
| Problem | When it counts (default) |
|---|---|
| Not shipped yet | Paid and unfulfilled for 2 business days, or a label made with no carrier scan after 1 business day |
| Stuck in transit | No tracking update for 48 hours |
| Carrier delay | The carrier reports a delay |
| Missed delivery attempt | The carrier tried to deliver and couldn't |
| Running late | 1 day past the expected delivery date |
| Probably lost | No update for 7 days, or 5 days past due |
| Delivered late | Arrived after the expected date |
Change any limit in Settings. A problem that clears and comes back reopens. Late deliveries leave the open list after 3 days.
Which orders Roadcase watches
- Paid or authorized orders that ship as a package.
- In-store sales, local pickup, orders on hold and pre-orders are skipped.
- Orders with tags you exclude in Settings (for example wholesale) get no shopper emails.
Delivery promises
In Settings, set the business days each shipping option should take, counted from payment. Roadcase then catches late packages even when the carrier gives no estimate.
Alerts to you
- Email alerts the moment a package looks lost or a delivery fails. You choose which problem types alert you, and can add an alert for any problem on orders above a dollar amount.
- Slack alerts (Starter and up) through a Slack Incoming Webhook link.
- The Monday report, an email summary of last week, on by default.
Problems that already existed when you installed don't send alerts.
Export
On the Problems page, download problems or all packages from the last 90 days as a CSV. Exports never include shopper names or emails.
