Data, privacy and uninstalling
What Roadcase stores, how shopper data is encrypted and deleted, what happens when you uninstall, and how shopper data requests are handled.
In short: Roadcase keeps a shopper's email address and first name only to send their shipping emails, encrypts them, and deletes them 90 days after delivery. Uninstalling stops everything at once and removes shopper data; the rest of your store's data is deleted 48 hours later, when Shopify asks.
What Roadcase keeps
- Order number, tags, dates, totals, shipping charged, carrier, tracking number and tracking events.
- The destination state and the first three digits of the ZIP code, and the package weight.
- The shopper's email address and first name, encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
- Never full addresses, phone numbers or payment details.
How long
- Shopper email and name: deleted 90 days after delivery, or 150 days after the order if it's never delivered.
- On uninstall: shopper emails stop and shopper data is deleted right away; everything else for your store is deleted 48 hours later, when Shopify sends its erasure request.
- Shopper erasure requests that come through Shopify are honored on receipt.
